Bright Start Academy is looking for an energetic, creative, reliable, fun Pre-K 2 classroom Lead teacher. We are a state licensed Early childcare center that prides itself on our low student teacher ratios, supportive, caring, and fun filled environment. We are currently looking to fill our Pre-K 2 classroom full time Lead Teacher Position (8:00am-4:30pm). The Teacher position supervises, assists, and supports the children, teacher assistants, substitutes, floaters and parents in carrying out developmentally appropriate child activities in accordance with the designated curriculum, and the High Scope Curriculum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work daily as a classroom Pre-K2 Teacher developing weekly lesson plans and other activities with input from Education team and supervising children in a safe, positive and developmentally appropriate environment.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the designated curriculum through proper daily implementation with developmentally appropriate conversations, behaviors and guidance strategies and ability to model for teaching staff, children, parents, community volunteers and interns.
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise and support the teaching team.
- Log daily child attendance.
- Conduct developmental screenings, parent conferences and ongoing assessments within the required time frames.
- Maintain anecdotal notes, as well as developmental and numerical data records on each child, with written and verbal input from other teaching staff in child’s record and data entry software.
- Participation in Teacher meetings, Professional Learning Communities and Professional Development as required by designated program.
- Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the preschools needs and operations.
- The Ideal Candidate for this position should posse:
- Must be reliable, professional, and articulate
- Have at least 2 years’ experience as a lead teacher
- Be able to create age appropriate, fun, flexible lesson plans
- Bachelors in Early Childhood Education or related field or Hold a CDA .
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
