Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automotive Vehicle Acquisitions Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in sourcing and purchasing high-quality pre-owned vehicles to maintain a healthy and diverse inventory for the dealership.
Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire vehicles from various sources, including online platforms (Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc.), Kelley Blue Book leads, service department, and private sellers.
- Analyze market conditions and utilize valuation tools (like KBB and MMR) to determine wholesale and retail prices, ensuring profitable acquisitions.
- Negotiate prices and terms with sellers to secure favorable deals.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections and condition report reviews, identifying potential reconditioning needs.
- Coordinate logistics for vehicle transportation to the dealership.
- Manage inventory levels, prevent aging issues, and dispose of wholesale inventory as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of acquisitions and related paperwork.
- Develop and maintain relationships with auction representatives, wholesalers, and industry contacts.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers throughout the acquisition process.
- Work with the sales team to refer customers interested in trade-ins and understand their needs and preferences for vehicle acquisitions.
- Utilize inventory management software (e.g., VAuto) to optimize inventory levels and turns.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of manager experience in automotive sales, purchasing, or a related field; dealership experience preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient in vehicle appraisal and market valuation techniques.
- Familiarity with dealership management software and CRM systems is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve monthly purchase goals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Valid in-state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Hours
· This is a full-time position. Hours are open for discussion.
