The Role at a Glance

At Land Rover Hinsdale, we’re not just selling vehicles—we’re creating memorable ownership experiences. As our next Pre-Owned Sales Manager, you’ll lead with strategy, heart, and hustle to drive pre-owned sales performance and deliver best-in-class customer experiences. You'll oversee the pre-owned department’s profitability, inventory, team development, and sales process execution—all while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, respect, and excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving Sales Performance: Achieve or exceed sales volume, gross profit, and finance goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Leading the Team: Hire, train, mentor, and coach a high-performing sales team. Conduct weekly one-on-ones and product knowledge sessions.
  • Inventory Management: Manage vehicle merchandising, pricing, and reconditioning to maximize turn rate and gross profitability. Maintain strict 60-day turn policy.
  • Optimizing Processes: Enforce CRM best practices, monitor customer follow-up, and ensure proper execution of the sales process and CPO standards.
  • Customer Engagement: Be a visible leader on the floor, support team members with desking deals, and step in as a closer when needed.
  • Compliance & Accountability: Maintain compliance with state, federal, and manufacturer guidelines. Set daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Marketing Director on merchandising strategy and the Service Department to ensure reconditioning timeliness and quality.

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Proven success in a retail automotive sales leadership role, ideally in pre-owned or used vehicle operations.
  • A strong closer with the ability to desk deals and coach others to do the same.
  • Experience with inventory turn strategies and performance metrics (turn rate, gross, PVR, look-to-book, etc.).
  • Strong command of CRM systems and follow-up processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurability guidelines.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Land Rover, Jaguar or other import/luxury brands.
  • Familiarity with vAuto and Vincue or similar merchandising tools.
  • Experience leading Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) programs.
  • Advanced Excel or reporting skills.
