Pre-Press Graphic Designer

Label Aid is an innovative flexographic and digital printing company. We produce custom labels, tags, and tape for many different end use applications. Our core markets include: food, beverage, industrial, automotive, home and garden along with personal care.


Label Aid is seeking a Pre-Press Graphic Designer M-F 8:30AM - 5:00PM


Job Description- To design or make minor graphic enhancements to a project based on the individual needs of our customer. Prior to beginning the design phase of a project, communicate with customer to determine a project's overall goal, purpose and desired appearance. Upon completing the design development or modification, the designer is responsible for prepping the files for printing on press.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepares/completes the creative concepts, graphic design, pre-press work, and technical specifications necessary to complete projects
  • Completes pre-press set up in Adobe based platforms (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop) for both Mac and PC
  • Develops creative concepts and design solutions for customers
  • Communicates effectively with customers
  • Develops and maintains accurate customer files based on production work flow
  • Inspects all jobs for accuracy and quality
  • Works well with a team and is committed to the production process
  • Meets with Customer Service, Sales and Production team to review new print projects in formal preflight sessions

Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in visual communication, graphic design, or a related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in graphic design or the print industry
  • Experience in graphic design/ print production
  • Expertise with Adobe based platforms (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Strong computer and internet skills (multiple platforms)
  • Good math and proof-reading skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage and optimize workload, prioritize multiple projects, and streamline the

production flow

  • Must demonstrate extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Associate (Required)

Experience:

  • Graphic Design: 2 years (Required)
  • Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)
  • print production: 1 year (Preferred)
