Job Description – Pre-Primary Teacher

Position: Pre-Primary Teacher
Department: Pre-Primary Wing (Nursery / PP1 / PP2)
Location: Pallavi International School, Sagar Road
Reporting To: Pre-Primary Coordinator / Principal

Role Purpose

The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports the holistic development of young learners. The teacher will promote cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor skill development through play-based and experiential learning methods.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans as per the school curriculum.
• Use play-way, activity-based, and experiential teaching methodologies.
• Develop foundational skills in phonics, literacy, numeracy, and general awareness.
• Conduct storytelling, rhymes, art, craft, music, and creative activities.
• Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking.

Classroom Management

• Maintain a safe, positive, and child-friendly classroom environment.
• Ensure discipline using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of classroom materials.
• Supervise students during classroom activities and transitions.

Student Development

• Observe, assess, and support each child’s academic and emotional growth.
• Encourage social interaction, confidence, and good habits.
• Identify students needing additional support and provide guidance.

Assessment and Documentation

• Maintain student records, anecdotal observations, and progress reports.
• Prepare assessment reports and participate in evaluation processes.
• Maintain portfolios and documentation as per school requirements.

Parent Communication

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
• Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
• Address parent queries professionally and constructively.

School Responsibilities

• Participate in school activities, celebrations, and events.
• Assist in classroom displays and preparation of teaching aids.
• Follow CBSE norms and school policies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and coordinators.

Qualifications

• Graduation (Mandatory)
• ECCEd / NTT / Montessori Training (Preferred)

• Freshers with relevant qualifications may apply
• 1–3 years of experience preferred
