Pre Production Associate Designer

Job description:

Responsibilities:

• Request design packs from designers
• Review design pack and check for discrepancies and add necessary pages (fabric, art and trim codes).
• Assign fabric and trim codes when needed.
• Submit completed design tech pack with all information to production for costing.
• Work on all yields (solids, random and placement prints, matching plaids/ stripes, etc.) with grading/ marking department.
• Work with graphic/ design on any artwork changes and placements
• Scale artwork based on cads and get approved by design.
• Work on cost options when price challenged.
• Gather all buck presses and color standards and pass to production. Send to accounts for approval when needed.
• Attend all production fittings to call out any cost issues or things that can affect cost.
• Responsible for all approvals including artwork & embroidery placements.
• Liaison between all departments and factories
• Attend private label meetings.
• Request fabrics and trims from factories.
• Responsible for fabric sourcing and developing.
• Owns denim and sportswear approval process including shade bands.
• Work closely with Target on approvals through their system.

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Production related field
• Denim experience required
• 3-5 years of experience
• Experience with the apparel design process from concept through to production
• Proficient in Excel and strong understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
