General Definition of Work:
Performs intermediate protective service work conducting criminal offender interviews, monitoring offender locations
and sobriety levels, developing and enforcing case supervision plans, generating and processing police and court reports
and documents. This position would be responsible for supervising a client caseload as directed by the Department Head
unlike the other pretrial screeners, as it would also be responsible for coordinating data entry, tracking and maintaining
various data sets in software programs or Excel and other administrative support work typically handled by those in the
position. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the supervisor.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs case management of assigned cases; communicates with other departments on the coordination of
services; performs follow up communication with schools, treatment facilities, and employers regarding
department services; contacts Community Resources to verify offender involvement in cases.
  • Composes and enforces case supervision plans; supervises offenders placed under pre-trial supervision; interacts
with offenders in the Office, at the County Jail, and over the phone; monitors offender GPS location and alcohol
levels to ensure compliance.
  • Screens offenders for specialty court programs, eligibility to treatment programs and facilities, and provides
referrals and recommendations to the court as needed; interviews and completes at-risks and needs assessment
of offenders; evaluates assessments and address potential issues; determines level of pretrial supervision needed;
uses collected offender data to provide a recommendation of a bond amount; testifies in court when necessary.
  • Provides customer service support by answering and returning phone calls and emails: assisting customer and
colleagues with questions, documents and data requests, verifying contact information and updating client
reporting sheets.
  • Performs general office duties such as preparing correspondence, court reports, paperwork, etc.; processing
mail, maintaining files or logs; uploading documents; performing data entry, preparing copies or faxes; updating

charts, files records, etc.; tracking and maintaining various data sets in software programs and Excel, taking
meeting minutes., etc.
Generates Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) reports and prepares case packets for arraignments;
collects, prepare and reviews written police reports and documentation for the court as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimal (less than one (1) year) experience working with pre-trial bond operations, interviewing
criminal offenders and processing Court documents.
Preferred: Proficient in Excel and report writing.
Special Requirements:

✓ Certified in Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) upon hire.
