Preconstruction Designer

Base Salary + Sales Commission Position!

Earnings of $85,000-$100,000 are achievable for high-performing individuals.

Ence Homes, a family-owned, residential construction company based in St. George, Utah is seeking a motivated, high-caliber Preconstruction Designer to grow with our company. Our Preconstruction Designers assist homeowners with making selections on the interior and exterior features, materials, and colors of their home. The designer offers selections and upgrades available for each floor plan and respective Ence community. This is a customer-service focused position.

Preconstruction Designer Responsibilities:

• Assist homeowners in the selection of interior and exterior materials and color choices for their new home
• Create sketches/specifications for custom tile, cabinet, and fireplace designs
• Prepare and issue upgrade prices to homeowners from price lists, estimating department, and subcontractors
• Utilize company software to input and update selections and issue and track homeowner change orders
• Maintain product knowledge and research new construction products and be able to educate homeowners on product offerings
• Complete designs for model and spec homes as necessary

Experience Required:

• Education – Minimum of a 2 year degree/certificate in interior design
• Experience – Computer Literate (preferably MS excel, word, etc…), two years office experience

Skills Required:

• Outgoing, friendly personality; tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
• Knowledge of principles and elements of design
• Have a working and technical knowledge of residential construction
• Ability to review and redline the pre-construction plans with homeowners
• Possess a basic knowledge of calculating retail cost
• Highly detail oriented
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Must demonstrate a working knowledge in office software (preferably MS Excel, Word and be adaptable to learning new software)
• Highly motivated, positive attitude, ethical, and goal oriented
• Works well under deadlines and can easily handle multiple projects at the same time
• Strong communication skills along with excellent written communication skills and effective listening skills

Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Full-time position, M-F 8:00-5:00. Note: This position requires willingness to work flexible hours in order to accommodate customer schedules and project deadlines. Base salary with commissions DOE. Benefits included after appropriate waiting periods.
