We are currently looking for a Pre-Fabrication Shop Foreman to join our team!
The Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of a crew of technicians, apprentices and laborers from various trades within the prefab as well as ensuring that all work assembled is completed on time, on budget and according to all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsibilities:
- Completely responsible for the prefab assemblies in compliance with engineered modeled drawings, contract drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Productivity Planning for assigned scope of work including material take-offs, phasing, staging and transporting; best practices; tool and equipment; information packages.
- Review engineered models to ensure constructability of assemblies.
- Understand shipping requirements for assemblies, and ensure on time delivery to construction site.
- Coordinate task between different trades to ensure assemblies are manufactured within scheduled timeframe.
- Daily report of tasks completed and problems encountered by area, submit hours/units daily for each employee assigned to Foreman;
- 6 Week Look-Ahead Schedule–weekly update and submission to superintendent & PM.
- Meeting and exceeding labor and material budget requirements for assigned cost codes
- Perform quality control inspections of work completed ensure compliance to the established QC plan & check lists
- Correcting and updating punch lists items within 24 hours of receipt of punch list and prior to assembly ship date.
- Inventory of all tools & equipment at the day’s end for assigned tools & equipment management
- Safety management not limited to:
- Implementing and maintaining Organizational Risk Management Program ORM, execute 6 elements of controls: position hazard analysis, Activity Hazard Analysis; Daily Work/Safety Briefing
- Manage and lead crews in the completion of various electrical tasks to include but not limited to the following:
- Installing electrical systems in a prefab warehouse setting
- Read and interpret construction drawings and model as it relates to prefab assemblies.
- Installing ¾” to 5” conduit using foot benders, side winder benders and hydraulic table benders
- Manufacturing support racks
- Perform quality control testing
- Train and evaluate apprentices
What we’re looking for:
- 8+ years of previous commercial/Industrial electrical construction experience
- Experience leading crews within a prefab warehouse.
- Knowledge in lifting and rigging procedures for large assemblies.
- Can supervise up to 20 employees of various trades.
- Experience installing electrical systems in a prefab warehouse setting and leading others
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move moderately heavy objects
- Ability to plan and lead the installation of ¾” to 5” conduit using foot benders, side winder benders and hydraulic table benders
- Ability to plan and lead the movement and loading of large prefab assemblies.
- Has expert knowledge and experience with:
- Volt/amp meters and meggers
- Basic wiring diagrams
- Operating scissor and boom lifts
- Off road forklifts
- Has good computer skills
- Familiar with Procore and Microsoft Teams
- Possession of reliable transportation and basic hand tools
- Must be willing to travel, work nights, weekends and overtime
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
- MIG Welding experience is a plus but not required.
