Prepress Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Prepress Specialist for our flexographic printing operations in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate must possess deep expertise in prepress workflows, color management, flexo plate processing, and packaging printing technologies. The role requires ensuring accurate file preparation, consistent print quality, and efficient workflow management for narrow web and wide web flexographic printing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete prepress operations for flexographic printing jobs.
• Prepare, check, edit, and finalize print-ready artwork files according to production specifications.

Operate and manage prepress and design software including:

• Esko
• Hybrid Packz
• RIP Software
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Workflow Automation Systems
• Perform color management, trapping, file preparation, proofing, troubleshooting, and print optimization.
• Ensure accurate color reproduction and consistency across production runs.
• Operate and maintain:
• CTP (Computer-to-Plate) systems
• Flexo plate processing equipment
• Water washable and solvent washable plate systems
• Create and maintain color profiles according to flexographic printing machine requirements.
• Support narrow web and wide web flexographic printing operations.
• Coordinate closely with production, design, and quality teams to achieve desired print output.
• Troubleshoot prepress and printing-related technical issues efficiently.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with customer specifications and production timelines.
• Contribute to process improvement and workflow automation initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong hands-on experience in flexographic prepress operations.
• Deep knowledge of flexo printing processes, including narrow web and wide web applications.
• Expertise in color management, profiling, screening, trapping, and RIP processes.
• Strong understanding of packaging and label printing requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot artwork, plate-making, and print-quality issues.
• Good understanding of workflow automation systems.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, Packaging Technology, or related field.
• Professional certifications in prepress or flexographic printing will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the printing and packaging industry.
• Experience in flexible packaging and label printing preferred.
• GCC or Middle East experience will be an added advantage.
