Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and experienced Preschool Director to support the daily operations and ensure the successful launch and ongoing management of our center. As the Director you will be responsible of the day-to-day operation of our center including staff management, scheduling, academic planning and implementation, training, paperwork for DCF and ELC including VPK, SR and any other program's required documentation. You will also be handling collection, file maintenance and DCF inspections. This role is ideal for a leader who is committed to excellence in early childhood education and thrives in a structured, high-quality environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily center operations and ensure compliance with DCF licensing standards
- Support staff supervision, scheduling, and training
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized learning environment
- Assist with enrollment, tours, and parent communication
- Ensure implementation of curriculum and program quality
- Monitor classroom practices and provide coaching to staff
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support marketing and community outreach efforts
Essential Job Functions
- Provide leadership and oversee daily operations of Trusted Love KinderCare, ensuring a high-quality, nurturing, and well-structured learning environment for children from infancy through Pre-K, including the VPK program.
- Ensure alignment with TLK’s mission and values, maintaining a consistent standard of excellence in all programs, services, and interactions with families and staff.
- Supervise, support, and develop staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure high-quality teaching and care.
- Maintain compliance with all Florida DCF licensing requirements, VPK standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee curriculum implementation, ensuring developmentally appropriate practices that support children’s cognitive, emotional, social, behavioral, and physical growth.
- Monitor classroom environments and teaching practices, providing coaching and feedback to staff to maintain program quality and consistency.
- Support enrollment and family engagement efforts, including conducting tours, communicating with parents, and building strong relationships with families and the community.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized facility, maintaining the physical environment to meet all health, safety, and licensing standards.
- Develop and maintain operational systems, including record-keeping, documentation, attendance, and child files in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership to support program growth, marketing efforts, and community outreach initiatives.
- Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work culture, fostering a team environment aligned with TLK’s commitment to excellence and care.
- Understand and support the developmental needs of young children, including their educational, emotional, social, and behavioral well-being.
- Ensure effective communication among staff, families, and leadership, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist with budgeting awareness and resource management, ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies, and staffing.
Required Qualifications:
License/Certification:
- Director Credentials (Required)
- Must meet Florida Director Credential requirements
- Experience in early childhood education leadership preferred
- Strong knowledge of DCF regulations and licensing standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for working with children and families
- Ability to lead with professionalism, warmth, and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Director: 1-3 years (Preferred)
- Experience in a childcare center or preschool setting
- Bilingual (a plus, but not required)
- Childcare: 3 years (Preferred)
- VPK Certification (Preferred)

$52,000 - $72,000 annually (prorated based on schedule). Final compensation based on experience and qualifications
