Preschool Lead Teacher

The Cal Elite Preschool Academy seeks teachers who are innately patient, kind, and understanding. Teachers must genuinely enjoy working with young children, and their joy for their work should be openly apparent in all that they do. Teachers should serve as an excellent example of honesty, kindness, curiosity, tolerance, and enthusiasm for their students and the families they serve.The Preschool Education Teacher is responsible for teaching preschool age children and preparing and conducting activities designed to promote social, cognitive, physical and intellectual growth to prepare them for a successful transition into kindergarten. The Preschool Education Teacher reports to the Director of Preschool Education. Minimum Educational/Teaching Experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
  • Support children’s social-emotional development by promoting respectful interactions and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and support each child's individual needs, including special education or early intervention services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of children’s developmental milestones, assessments, and standardized testing results.
  • Lead activities that promote physical activity, literacy skills, and cognitive development while ensuring child welfare and safety at all times.

Experience

  • Requirements
  • 12 degree applicable units with a “C” grade or higher at a regionally accredited college or university consisting of
  • 3 Semester Units of Child Development
  • 3 Semester Units of Child Family and Community Relations or Child and Family Relations
  • 6 units of Programs and Curriculum; and
  • Complete at least 50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last two years
  • Planning curriculum and implementing activities
  • Ability to be in a group with up to 12 kids

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
