Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and respect among children.
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and engagement for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Use effective behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions and address challenges constructively.
- Collaborate with families through regular communication about children's progress, developmental milestones, and classroom events.
- Incorporate specialized strategies for children requiring early intervention or special education services to support their individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, assessments, and standardized testing results to track progress and inform instruction.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience in curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children, including Montessori or other educational philosophies.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques that foster a safe and productive learning environment.
- Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs, including toddlers and children requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with parents, colleagues, and community partners professionally and empathetically.
- Familiarity with lesson planning tools, classroom technology, and assessment methods.
