Preschool Special Education Teacher

Lead Special Education Teacher (4410 Preschool Program)

Full-Time | Multiple Positions Available
10-Month & 12-Month Contracts Available

Location: Kidtastic Kids Preschool Program
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
(Some days until 4:30 PM for trainings)
Staff Meetings: Monthly (primarily virtual)

Kidtastic Kids is actively hiring multiple Lead Special Education Teachers for our NYSED-approved 4410 Preschool Program. We are looking for passionate educators who are committed to making a meaningful impact while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 (based on experience)

Position Overview

As a Lead Teacher, you will create a structured, engaging classroom environment that supports students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development while implementing individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Leadership

  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with IEP goals
  • Implement classroom management and behavioral strategies
  • Promote independence, engagement, and social-emotional growth
  • Support students with daily routines (meals, transitions, self-care)

IEP & Compliance

  • Attend CPSE meetings and update IEPs
  • Conduct assessments (TSG, PEC, ABC data, etc.)
  • Monitor progress and complete required reports
  • Maintain compliance with NYSED 4410 and OCFS regulations

Collaboration & Communication

  • Maintain consistent communication with families
  • Participate in parent conferences and team meetings
  • Collaborate with providers and administration
  • Utilize ClassDojo and other communication tools

Professional Responsibilities

  • Submit weekly lesson plans
  • Attend curriculum meetings and trainings (including HighScope)
  • Maintain required OCFS training hours
  • Participate in staff meetings and school events

Classroom Environment

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom
  • Keep documentation and binders up to date
  • Create and maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards

Qualifications

  • NYS Certification in Special Education (SWD/Birth–2 or Students with Disabilities) preferred
  • Experience in preschool and/or special education strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of IEPs, CPSE process, and 4410 regulations
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
