Preschool Teacher

The Preschool Teacher (working with children 2 1/2-3 1/2 years) position is part time.

- Monday-Friday, 7-1pm.

Note - Extra hours may be available if interested in becoming a Substitute within other classrooms (extra hours will not impact permanent hours).

Job Summary

The principal duties of the Teacher include: assistance in teaching activities on a daily basis, providing input on the effectiveness of child development, ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children, maintain communication with parents, provide feedback for the improvement of the center program and attend trainings/workshops as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planned, age appropriate activities in accordance with the curriculum to engage and educate the children
• Support and provide for the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of each child
• Communicate with parents
• Assist in lesson plans and follow the daily schedule for the classroom.
• Administer screenings, annually and collect evidence to complete assessments, bi-annually
• Be prepared for emergencies by participating in training, becoming knowledgeable in the policies and procedures of the center
• Provide a pleasant, welcoming classroom atmosphere in which children feel comfortable and safe
• Participate in meetings and attend trainings/workshops as needed
• Carry out child care routines consistent with program guidelines; found in the employee handbook
• Uphold state licensing standards
• Maintain ratios in classroom

Training - upon permanent employment.

• Attending and tracking the required 6 hours Ohio Approved trainings, every year
• Update required trainings; including CPR/First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse
• Continue to uphold OCCRRA registry by submitting trainings/classes taken; online and to the Director

Education and Experience (Current)

• Required: High School Diploma or GED
• Complete required trainings within first 30 and 90 days of employment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
