Preschool Teacher

Are you passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and thrive? TLC Learning Center is seeking a caring and creative Preschool Teacher who will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages six weeks to six years. As part of our inclusive, non-profit program, you’ll play a meaningful role in shaping early childhood experiences while receiving ongoing training and professional support.

For more than 65 years, TLC Learning Center has been a trusted leader in early childhood education and therapy services in Longmont, CO. We are a non-profit, inclusive program dedicated to helping every child reach their fullest potential—cognitively, physically, and socially. As a Pyramid Plus Program for social-emotional development, we provide all staff with paid on-the-job training, mentorship, and coaching.

What You’ll Do

• Create and implement engaging lesson plans that spark curiosity and creativity.
• Foster a warm, inclusive environment where children of all backgrounds and abilities feel supported.
• Interact with children through play, music, art, reading, writing, and physical activities.
• Communicate openly with families about their child’s progress and needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, assistants, and therapists to create a cohesive learning experience.
• Support daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, and nap time while maintaining a safe, clean classroom.
• Document each child’s activities and milestones to share with parents.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and willingness to obtain a Colorado Professional Early Childhood Credential (Level 3–6).
• Must pass a FBI background check and fingerprinting within 30 days of employment.
• Experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus.

Preferred:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
• 30+ ECE college credits (especially for Lead Teacher roles)
• Pyramid Plus training, trauma-informed care, or ACES training
• Knowledge of Colorado Shines and QRIS systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry children and classroom equipment
• Comfortable sitting, standing, and moving around on the floor
• Cleaning and sanitizing classroom surfaces and materials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
