SUMMARY

Provides care to three year olds by performing the following duties.

* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

· Exemplifies godly character as prescribed in the company’s constitution in all areas including appearance, dress, communication, and interactions with others.

· Teach the children songs, poems, Bible verses, letter, counting, Language Development, etc.

· Preparation of food- including dumping and filling cups, setting out and cleaning up snacks, helping distribute lunch.

· Feeding of children- some assistance at lunch may be required (i.e. cutting up larger foods: chicken patties, loaded potatoes, etc.)

· Change garments when soiled.

· Maintains discipline in strict accordance to state regulations and company policy.

· Spends time reading to, singing with, playing with (i.e. puzzles, coloring, dramatic play, listening to their stories, etc…) and loving on each of the children daily.

· Love and comfort the children when they are upset and or hurt.

· Listen to the children and interact with the children.

· Help with separation of children and parents.

· Training the children to do what we expect of them (i.e. see learning goals below)

  • Keep noses, mouths, and hands clean. Make sure they are clean before the child leaves.

· Maintain cleanliness of room, floors and bathroom throughout the day. Always leave room clean.

· Cleaning of toys and equipment. Cleaning sheet filled out each week.

· Reads the Daycare and Preschool Weekly, and completes any required tasks by the deadline.

· “About my Day” Report must be completed and sent home daily in the absence of the teacher.

· Completes all required paperwork daily; including, but not limited to timesheets (front and back), accountability sheets, attendance records, and incident reports (if applicable).

· Need to be willing to work together as a team. Remain flexible with work hours. Remember, the time you leave is based on the teacher to student ratio and not on a specific time. Be considerate of other co-worker’s appointments and needs, remember to treat others like you want to be treated. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

· This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read and write in English

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as, but not limited to safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.

· Ability to speak effectively to parents about their child’s day and behaviors (keeping in mind the sandwich method: something good, something bad and something good). It is not our job to tell a parent how they should raise their child.

· Ability to speak effectively to coworkers and resolve any issues that may arise.

· Ability to speak effectively to supervisor about any concerns, problems and needs that arise.

· Ability to ask questions when things are not clear.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Ability to make simple decisions-

o It is raining should I go outside to the playground or should I go to the little gym?

o A child is climbing on the cots should I stop them or allow them to continue?

o All of my children are here today should I leave the class to go to the restroom or should I contact my supervisor and see if she can let me go?

o The teacher is out today, in her place should I teach the lessons, fill out all paperwork, and anything else she is responsible for?

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

· Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES

· Teach the children songs, poems, Bible verses, letter, counting etc.

· Spends time reading to, singing with, playing with (i.e. puzzles, coloring, dramatic play, listening to their stories, etc…) and loving on each of the children daily.

· In the absence of the teacher, need to be ready to teach the lessons for the day.

· A Beka Curriculum is used: 3yr old Numbers & Skills with Button Bear

Letters & Sounds for 3s

3s Preschool Bible Coloring Sheets

Child Art for 3s

· Two poems per month

· Two Bible verses per month

· One craft per week

· At least one paper per day

· Teach all the curriculum (i.e. Language Development, Enrichment, Alphabet Friends, Numbers, etc…)

· Learning Papers and “About My Day” Report sent home each day
