Preschool Teacher

We currently have a need for two (2) fully qualified Preschool Teachers. INFANT/TODDLER UNITS REQUIRED. Under the supervision and direction of the Preschool Director, instruct and care for children in preschool level activities to promote social, physical, and intellectual child development.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement weekly lesson plans.
• Plan and implement the daily program for children.
• Supervise children; help with meals, maintain a clean and orderly room.
• Teach children to think creatively, problem solve independently, teach respect to others and self.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Work to prevent injuries/accidents and react appropriately if they occur.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and their families.
• Conduct parent conferences advising parents of growth/development of child.
• Conduct daily health checks on each child as they sign in for the day.
• Oversee supervision of all indoor and outdoor activities.
• Maintain close and open communication with Director, staff and parents.
• Report suspected abuse to Director.
• Perform other related duties as requested by Director or other administrator on site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bi-lingual in Chinese/English or Spanish/English is desired but not a requirement.
• Must speak, read and write English well enough to communicate with children, staff and parents.
• Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR; current TB test required.
• Able to successfully complete background investigation and drug screen.
• Required to stand up to 95% of the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and to frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 12 core Early Childhood Education college credits/units required.
• Infant/toddler college credits/units required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in a licensed preschool.
