KLA Schools of Huntsville, an innovative preschool inspired by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia approach to education, is seeking an experienced full-time Infant-Preschool Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. Position Overview:
As an Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children. You will collaborate closely with other faculty members to develop and implement a creative, age-appropriate curriculum that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. This position requires a commitment to ongoing professional development and active participation in school activities, events, and meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree / Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Prior experience in a preschool or early childhood classroom setting.
- Strong communication skills and a warm, nurturing demeanor.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A positive team player who is resourceful, proactive, flexible, and creative.
- Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia philosophy is a plus.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum.
- Support the social and emotional growth of all students.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes independent and group learning.
- Manage student behavior to provide a positive and secure learning atmosphere.
- Assess and document student progress to ensure continuous communication with students, parents, and the administration.
- Write personalized narratives, complete progress reports, and conduct parent-teacher conferences to provide constructive feedback on student progress.
- Foster a cooperative educational team by keeping parents informed and involved.
- Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrate respect for diversity by incorporating cultural values and beliefs within the classroom community.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, logistics meetings, parent meetings, school events, grade-level meetings, and other school-related activities.
- Mentor and support teacher assistants or co-teachers in maintaining an optimal learning environment.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
