Preschool Teacher

YMCA of Centre County's Moshannon Valley Branch is hiring Pre-School Teachers to be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children enrolled in our programs. Staff will assist in daily supervision, curriculum planning, and the creation of positive learning experiences that promote social, emotional, and physical growth. Staff are needed to fill weekday shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of PA Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations.
• Supervise children and ensure constant active engagement.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support learning and creativity.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Communicate daily with parents about children’s experiences and needs.
• Use positive guidance and redirection techniques to manage behavior.
• Complete required administrative paperwork, including attendance, meal counts, and reports.
• Support the overall mission and goals of the YMCA.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

• High school diploma and 30 college credits in education or human services.
• High school diploma and 600+ hours of secondary training.
• High school diploma, 15 college credits in education or human services, and 1 year of experience working with children.
• High school diploma and 2 years of experience working with children.

Salary & Benefits

• Pay: $14.00 – $15.50 per hour (based on education and experience)
