Ward Preschool is seeking a caring and dependable Lead Teacher to join our Christian early childhood program. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who desires meaningful part-time work in a supportive, faith-centered environment.
About the Role
The Lead Teacher creates a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where young children grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually. The Lead Teacher also provides day-to-day guidance to an Assistant Teacher and works under the supervision of the Preschool Director.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate preschool lessons

Teach school readiness skills in a structured, loving environment

Integrate Bible teaching and Christian values in an age-appropriate way

Supervise and collaborate with an Assistant Teacher

Maintain a safe, healthy, and well-organized classroom

Provide positive guidance and classroom management

Develop and manage learning centers and activities
-
Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth

Participate in meetings, parent communication, and scheduled events

Complete required training and maintain confidentiality
Schedule & Work Environment

Part-time position (schedule discussed during interview)

Classroom size limited to no more than 20 children with Assistant Teacher support

Education Requirements

Required: CDA credential or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education
