Preschool Teacher (3-6 yrs. olds)

We are now accepting applicants for a full-time teaching position in our Montessori School. Media Children’s House Montessori School was established in 1976 and is an independent Montessori School with programs available for children 18 months of age through kindergarten. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and preparing the classroom environment on a daily basis
• Posting lesson plans in the daily report section of an online portal
• Commenting and tracking lessons daily on our online portal for parents
• Providing daily updates and photos of individual children each day on the online portal
• Preparing and implementing engaging lessons for a variety of curriculum areas
• Attending and actively participating in all staff meetings
• Guiding teacher assistants, aides, and volunteers in the classroom procedures
• Sharing housekeeping duties throughout the school year, including the outdoor areas
• Completing progress reports, evaluations, referrals, and conference forms for all students
• Conducting Parent-Teacher Conferences
• Completing a minimum of twelve professional development hour per year
• Utilizing effective methods to evaluate of each child’s progress
• Preparing necessary classroom materials and supplies
• Attending all school functions, including parent meetings, social events, parades, in-service days, etc.
• Maintaining a nurturing, respectful, inspiring, and safe learning/classroom environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have graduated from an approved 4-year college or university and submit documentary evidence of successful completion hours in the theory of child development, early childhood, or elementary education.
• Must have obtained Montessori certification or be willing to pursue training.
• Must obtain required clearances and complete a bi-annual health assessment.
