Preschool Teacher - Nonprofit Ministry

We are looking for a talented Preschool Teacher to join our team!

Our Mission:

To minister the love of Jesus Christ to the Least, the Last, and the Lost of our Community through the provision of assistance in the areas of guidance, counseling, education, job training, shelter, food, clothing, health care and independent living communities.

Role Overview:

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for overseeing a preschool classroom to prepare children educationally and social-emotionally for their next level of education at the Village of Hope or an offsite school. They will also oversee parent helpers in the classroom, mentoring them in educational and disciplinary techniques.

This position has a part-time schedule of Monday through Friday 7am-12pm and is located in Tustin, CA.

Essential Job Duties:

• Help children reach developmental milestones
• Supervise children to ensure safety protocols are met
• Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks, and snacks
• Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games, storytelling and chapel
• Instill a sense of structure and discipline for children in the classroom
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and children
• Prepare children to enter the next level of care or for entry into school
• Report any accidents or unusual behavior to supervising staff and parents
• Mentor and evaluate adult student helpers
• Maintain a safe, clean and tidy classroom

Minimum Qualifications:

• Job Skills/Qualifications: Experience as a Preschool Teacher with a knowledge of how to deal with children who have been through trauma. Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods. Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms. Excellent communication and instructional skills. Ability to act as mediator between children.
• Certification: Child CPR
• Education: Associate's degree (AA)
• Driving Requirements: Required to drive a Company vehicle on behalf of Company.
