Overview
This role provides overall leadership and management of The Northern Trust Company of Delaware (NTDE).
What You’ll Do

Provide overall leadership and management of The Northern Trust Company of Delaware (NTDE), with full accountability for strategy, execution of priorities, governance, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Develop, implement, and communicate an integrated strategy aligned with Business Unit and Corporate objectives, ensuring sustainable growth, effective risk management, and fiduciary client service excellence.

Assume full accountability for financial performance, profitability, and resource management, including capital and expense budgeting, staffing, and cross‑functional coordination to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Oversee the delivery of trust services in partnership with Global Family Office, Family Office Solutions, and Regional Markets, ensuring consistent execution and high‑quality client outcomes.

Lead and develop a high‑performing organization, providing proactive, strategic leadership grounded in extensive fiduciary and functional expertise.

Build and maintain senior‑level client and prospect relationships, collaborating with internal partners to deliver solutions aligned with complex client needs and to support business development objectives.

Enhance awareness of NTDE’s capabilities in Delaware, Nevada, and other flexible trust jurisdictions across Northern Trust, and represent NTDE externally to strengthen market presence and brand profile.

Serve as a subject‑matter leader on Delaware trusts and related fiduciary topics by advising internal stakeholders, coordinating external expert presentations to partners, and communicating updates on evolving laws and practices.

Act as a frequent speaker and author on tax and wealth transfer planning and fiduciary administration, trust jurisdictions, and legislative developments at local and national forums.

Travel as required to engage with clients, external advisors, and professional networks to advance Northern Trust’s fiduciary capabilities and strategic relationships.
What Will Make You Successful in the Role

Deep expertise in fiduciary business leadership, including strategy development, profitability management, and oversight of a regulated legal entity.

Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and decision‑making skills to direct complex operations and align stakeholders.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior audiences internally and externally.

High degree of flexibility and adaptability in a changing regulatory and business environment.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) strongly preferred.
Salary Range:
$205,700 - 360,100 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
