Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time skilled Night Shift Press Shop Supervisor to work out of our Waggaman, LA location. This position oversees the press department and all personnel assigned to it. Works with the Plant Manager and Assistant Plant Manager to ensure order deadlines are met.
Essential Duties:- Train new employees assigned to the department.
- Perform visual inspections including all samples, first pieces, and checking the set up.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory level for work orders, restock as necessary.
- Ensure a non-conformance report is raised when applicable and forwarded to QA department for recording, sentencing, and closing out as required.
- Ensure that any new equipment is properly calibrated prior to use and is appropriately stored to prevent deterioration, identification is maintained, and it is used and handled in a suitable manner. Train and verify that all personnel are following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous quality improvement objectives.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment and ensure that all warehouse personnel are working efficiently and safely.
Ideal Candidate:- Experience in manufacturing in a similar environment. Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic presses, plate rolls, and iron working equipment.
- Ability to liaise with all Supervisors.
- Capable of stepping into any position within the department when needed.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to solve challenges with a certain degree of autonomy.
Days/Shift:- Monday thru Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am
