POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary)

This position is responsible for reviewing all requests for pricing and determining appropriate rate levels based on corporate costs and existing rate levels by communicating with both internal and external customers. This position is an integral part of the department that is responsible for all topline revenue for the company.

Essential Job Responsibilities AND Results

  • Account management, including producing contract proposals, negotiating contracts with customers and/or the Sales Department, producing rate comparisons, determining rate levels, and reviewing contracts.
  • Seeking input from and providing input to the Business Development Department.
  • Preparing and updating standard rate comparisons, as well as preparing new comparisons and recommendations on individual accounts.
  • Analyze and recommend rate levels for customers.
  • Participate in the publication of Surface Transportation Board tariffs.
  • Publish Contracts and Addendums, including using Contract 365.
  • Participate in Month End Processes.
  • Participate in producing Flash reports and yield projections, as well as other requested reports.
  • Member of a team that provides transactional-level (by move, by customer, by equipment size/type, by market segment, etc.) business analytics involving revenue and expense to multiple departments.
  • Enter contractual information into back-office-software system and ensure its accuracy.
  • Function in helpdesk role for Customer Service Department regarding daily invoice production.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve booking /invoicing issues immediately due to the process demands of billing-to-cash system.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree required (general business, economics, or related field preferred).
  • Related analytical experience preferred.

STRESS ON THE JOB

This position is occasionally subjected to a significant amount of stress due to customer or management-imposed deadlines, lack of complete information, and the fact that work produced in this arena inherently requires extreme accuracy and thoroughness as output is routinely used for decision-making by both customers and top management. Frequently requesting information/work from other internal departments and dealing with customer complaints adds to stress levels as well. Occasional long hours are possible.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

Most work requires normal physical effort.

MANUAL DEXTERITY

Requires moderate use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents.

The salary range is $52, 900-92,600 with an anticipated salary of $78,000. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.

As part of the team, full-time employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, employee assistance program, 401(k) with company match and discretionary funding, tuition reimbursement, supplemental parental leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave.
