Role Overview
The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing pricing strategies that maximize revenue, profitability, and market competitiveness across the company's products portfolio. This role combines strategic thinking, financial analysis, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure pricing decisions support business growth objectives while delivering customer value.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute pricing strategies across the product portfolio.
- Establish pricing frameworks, policies, and governance processes.
- Lead pricing reviews and recommendations throughout the product lifecycle, including new product launches, enhancements, and portfolio changes.
- Ensure pricing aligns with corporate growth, profitability, and market positioning objectives.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor market trends, customer demand, competitor pricing, and industry benchmarks.
- Conduct pricing research and elasticity analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Assess market dynamics and customer segments to optimize value-based pricing approaches.
Financial & Commercial Analysis
- Perform profitability, margin, and revenue impact analyses for pricing decisions.
- Develop business cases and financial models to support pricing recommendations.
- Analyze pricing performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Track pricing KPIs and provide regular performance reporting to leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Management to define pricing strategies and value proposition for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with Sales and Commercial teams on pricing models, discount structures, deal approvals, etc.
- collaborate with Finance on financial forecasting, business case development and approvals, gross margin guidance, etc.
- Support go-to-market initiatives with pricing guidance and commercial insights.
Provide support and guidance to stakeholders on pricing principles, tools, and processes.
Tools & Process Improvement
- Maintain pricing models, analytics tools, and pricing databases.
- Drive continuous improvement in pricing methodologies, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Leverage data analytics and market insights to improve pricing effectiveness and decision-making.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant professional certification is preferred.
Experience
- 8-12 years of experience in pricing, commercial strategy, finance, product management, revenue management, or related fields.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies.
- Experience working in technology-driven or product-focused organizations is preferred.
