Job Title: English Teacher (Primary Section)

Location: Narayana Etechno school, Salem

Department: Primary (Classes I–V)

Reporting to: Academic Coordinator / Principal

Board: CBSE

Job Summary:

The English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to primary school students as per CBSE guidelines. The teacher will focus on developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through engaging and age-appropriate methods, while fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured English lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
  • Design lesson plans and teaching aids to support differentiated learning.
  • Teach fundamental grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, creative writing, and spoken English.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents during meetings and report sessions.
  • Encourage students to participate in literary activities such as storytelling, debates, dramatics, and recitations.
  • Integrate technology, audiovisual tools, and activity-based learning into lessons.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and academic coordinators for curriculum planning and improvement.
  • Participate in school events, assemblies, and co-curricular programs.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE academic standards and school policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English / Education (B.A. + B.Ed. mandatory).
  • Master’s degree in English or Education (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience at the primary level (CBSE experience preferred).
  • Strong command of English (spoken and written).
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with child-centered and activity-based teaching methods.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and smart classroom technology.
