1. Position Overview
The Primary Maths Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, concept-based mathematics lessons to students of classes 1–5, ensuring strong foundational numeracy skills aligned with CBSE and NEP guidelines. The teacher should create a joyful, activity-based learning environment that encourages problem-solving, logical thinking, and confidence in maths.
2. Key Responsibilities. Academic Delivery
- Teach Mathematics to primary students (Grade 1–5) as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, worksheets, and activity-based learning modules.
- Use teaching aids like manipulatives, concrete materials, math kits, flashcards, and visuals.
- Introduce basic concepts using experiential and hands-on learning approaches.
- Ensure syllabus completion within the academic year while maintaining quality teaching.
- Conduct assessments, periodic tests, remedials, and maintain student progress records.
- Support students in understanding basic numeracy, operations, geometry, measurements, and problem-solving.
B. Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline, order, and a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Encourage student participation, group activities, and collaborative learning.
- Address individual learning needs through differentiated instruction.
- Create an inclusive and child-friendly environment.
C. Student Development
- Encourage curiosity, confidence, and love for Mathematics.
- Provide remedial support for slow learners and enrichment for fast learners.
- Guide students in foundational skills such as logical reasoning, sequencing, patterns, and mental math.
- Monitor the emotional and social development of young learners.
D. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain daily records, student portfolios, and academic documentation as per CBSE norms.
- Prepare question papers, assignments, and assessment sheets.
- Participate in PTMs, staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
- Coordinate with co-teachers and the academic team for planning and implementation.
E. Professional Conduct
- Follow school policies, code of conduct, and safeguarding guidelines.
- Engage in continuous professional development and teacher training programs.
- Use technology effectively (smart boards, educational apps, digital tools) during teaching.
3. Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with B.Ed. (Maths specialization preferred).
- Strong understanding of primary-level pedagogy and child psychology.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching Maths in a CBSE school (2+ years).
- Training in NEP 2020-aligned pedagogies, experiential learning, or activity-based teaching.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
