Primary School Teacher – Mathematics & EVS (Grade 1)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and nurturing Primary School Teacher to teach Mathematics and Environmental Studies (EVS) to students of Grade 1. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of child-centered pedagogy, the ability to simplify concepts, and a creative approach to make learning joyful and engaging.
Key Responsibilities:Academic:
- Teach basic Mathematics concepts such as numbers, addition, subtraction, shapes, measurement, and patterns.
- Teach Environmental Studies (EVS), introducing children to their surroundings, nature, family, school, animals, plants, safety, hygiene, and basic science in everyday life.
- Prepare and implement daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals and grade-level expectations.
- Use storytelling, visual aids, activities, and play-based learning to simplify abstract ideas.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments to evaluate and track student progress.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Encourage curiosity, participation, and questioning in the classroom.
- Manage behavior with patience, positive reinforcement, and age-appropriate strategies.
Administrative & Communication:
- Maintain proper records of attendance, assessments, and student portfolios.
- Collaborate with other subject teachers and coordinators for interdisciplinary learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and development.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- D.El.Ed. / B.Ed. qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting is preferred.
- Strong command over English and/or the medium of instruction.
- Familiarity with child development principles and early childhood education practices.
