1. Position Overview
The CBSE Primary Vice Principal is responsible for providing strong academic and administrative leadership for the primary section (Classes I–V). The role involves ensuring quality teaching–learning processes, adherence to CBSE guidelines, teacher development, student discipline, parent engagement, and smooth operation of daily school activities.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Leadership
- Ensure effective implementation of CBSE curriculum, NEP 2020 guidelines, and school academic policies.
- Monitor lesson planning, pedagogy, assessments, and student progress.
- Guide teachers in innovative teaching methods, experiential learning, and activity-based learning.
- Oversee the development of annual academic plans, timetables, and remedial programs.
- Review class observations and give constructive feedback to teachers.
B. Administration & Operations
- Supervise daily school operations including attendance, discipline, assemblies, and safety protocols.
- Assist in drafting school policies, handbooks, schedules, and reports.
- Coordinate examinations, report cards, and parent–teacher meetings.
- Manage teacher substitution, duty rosters, and classroom allocations.
C. Staff Management & Professional Development
- Mentor and support primary school teachers to maintain academic quality.
- Organize in-service training, workshops, and capacity-building programs.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and appraisal of teaching staff.
- Foster a positive, collaborative working environment.
D. Student Development & Welfare
- Monitor student behavior, discipline, emotional well-being, and overall development.
- Ensure implementation of inclusive education practices, SEN support, and counseling requirements.
- Promote co-curricular activities, competitions, assemblies, and school events.
E. Parent & Community Engagement
- Maintain effective communication with parents and address academic or behavioral concerns.
- Conduct orientation programs and interact with the Parent–Teacher Association (PTA).
- Represent the school in external events, inspections, and academic collaborations.
F. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with CBSE norms, school policies, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to academics, training, safety, and school records.
- Assist in school audits, CBSE inspections, and accreditation processes.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree (preferably in Education or relevant subject).
- B.Ed./M.Ed. mandatory.
- Minimum 5–10 years of teaching experience, with at least 2–3 years in an academic leadership role (Coordinator / Headmistress / Vice Principal).
- Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum, NEP 2020, assessment guidelines, and school administration.
