Principal Consultant - Facade Engineering

WSP in the Middle East is seeking exceptional talent in façade engineering and building-enclosure design to join our growing Middle East team. We are hiring at Principal level to contribute to the region's most iconic projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the façade projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative façade solutions for property and building projects.
• Plan and lead all phases of façade design, from conceptualization through detailed design to construction.
• Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate façade systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, standards, and regulations specific to the Middle East region.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
• Lead discussions with clients to understand their project requirements and deliver design solutions that meet their expectations.
• Prepare and present design proposals, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

• Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in façade design and construction.
• Understand the basics of structural engineering and building physics.
• Experience with computational design is a plus.
• Be involved in construction projects, review shop drawings and prepare proposals.

• Promote sustainability and innovation in façade design to align with the company's strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in façade design, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects in the Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of integrated project delivery methods and experience in managing big teams with different backgrounds.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Construction supervision experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in relevant design software and tools. Innovative tools and computational design knowledge.
• Strong understanding of sustainability principles and their application in façade design.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong confidence in commercial, bidding and negotiation skills.
