We are seeking a Principal Engineer with 10–12 years of strong, hands-on experience in backend engineering, architecture, AI systems integration, and telephony infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who can lead engineering efforts end-to-end – from system design to deployment – while collaborating closely with AI/ML and product teams to deliver high-impact, production-grade conversational AI and voice bot solutions. You will take technical ownership of the engineering and delivery lifecycle for AI-powered Speech products, driving performance, scalability, and integration reliability across platforms.
- Architect and lead the development of robust backend platforms that enable AI voice and messaging agents at scale.
- Drive the integration of CPaaS platforms and telephony systems (Asterisk, FreeSWITCH).
- Build real-time streaming interfaces integrating ASR (speech recognition), TTS (text-to-speech), and LLM (natural language generation).
- Manage and guide a small team of backend engineers and work cross-functionally with AI scientists and DevOps teams.
- Lead the deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of voice AI systems on cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Create and enforce engineering best practices, CICD pipelines, logging/observability, and API lifecycle governance.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and long-term technology roadmap aligned with product vision.
- 10–12 years of experience in backend engineering (Node.js, Python, or Go) with a strong architecture mindset.
- Deep understanding of real-time systems, WebSockets, microservices, message brokers (Kafka, Redis Streams, etc.).
- Strong experience integrating telephony systems (SIP, RTP) and CPaaS providers; hands-on with Asterisk/FreeSWITCH is a plus.
- Proven ability to integrate and deploy AI/NLP components – LLMs, ASR/TTS engines, vector DBs, etc.
- Strong grasp of security, compliance, and observability best practices for production environments.
- Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and DevOps CI/CD tooling.
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end AI/voice solutions in a production context.
- Experience with Agentic AI frameworks or orchestration of multiple autonomous AI agents.
- Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and RAG architectures.
- Exposure to analytics, real-time event tracking, and performance dashboards (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
