POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our growing engineering team and play a critical role in shaping the technical foundation of our product. As we scale, we are focused on improving development speed, code quality, and architectural consistency. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong engineering judgement and can bring structure to fast-moving teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive engineering excellence by enforcing coding standards, best practices, and clean architecture principles
• Guide the team on efficient implementation approaches with a strong focus on performance and scalability
• Design and refine core business logic with clarity, simplicity, and extensibility in mind
• Conduct thorough pull request reviews ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
• Reduce codebase fragmentation and bring consistency across services and repositories
• Establish and promote reusable patterns and abstractions
• Take ownership of evolving the overall system architecture into a more structured and cohesive design

Core Technical Expectations

• Strong command over Data Structures & Algorithms with the ability to apply them in real-world systems
• Deep understanding and practical application of SOLID Principles
• Hands-on experience with Design Patterns (e.g., Factory, Strategy, Observer, Repository, etc.)
• Ability to write clean, modular, and extensible code
• Strong grasp of system design, including scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
• Proven ability to identify and eliminate technical debt

Technical Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel
• Strong expertise in MySQL, including query optimization and database design
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and API design
• Experience working with large-scale or growing codebases
• Familiarity with modern development workflows, version control, and CI/CD

Nice to Have

• Experience with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js)
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience in refactoring and scaling existing systems
• Familiarity with performance tuning, caching, and observability
