Principal Geologist, Mine-to-Mill Reconciliation

Job Purpose
The Principal, Mine-to-Mill Reconciliation is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously improving mine-to-mill reconciliation across all BMNM operations. The role ensures transparency and accountability between Mineral Resources, mining execution, stockpiles, and plant performance, enabling early identification of value leakage and systematic performance improvement.
This position internalizes a critical function that is currently fragmented across sites and partially supported by consultants, providing a single technical authority for reconciliation standards, workflows, and interpretation.
Key Accountabilities

Mine-to-Mill Reconciliation Framework
  • Define and implement standardized reconciliation workflows from resource model grade control mined material stockpiles plant feed recovery.
  • Establish consistent reconciliation KPIs, definitions, and reporting cycles across sites.
  • Ensure reconciliation results are timely, reliable, and actionable.
Root Cause Analysis & Value Protection
  • Lead investigation of reconciliation variances (grade, tonnes, recovery).
  • Identify root causes related to dilution, ore loss, sampling, modeling assumptions, and operational practices.
  • Translate reconciliation outcomes into clear improvement actions for geology, mining, and processing teams.
Internalization of Technical Capability
  • Reduce reliance on external consultants by delivering in-house mine to mill and optimization work.
  • Act as the internal technical authority for reconciliation related matters, peer-reviewing both internal and externally generated work.
Operational Integration
  • Work closely with geology operations, mine planning, and processing teams to align assumptions and execution.
  • Support blending strategies by linking ore sources, ore types, and metallurgical performance.
  • Act as the technical bridge between site operations and corporate planning.
Governance, Assurance & Reporting
  • Ensure reconciliation processes are auditable, documented, and consistently applied.
  • Support internal reviews, management reporting, and external audits.
  • Provide expert input into life-of-mine planning, forecasts, and performance reviews.
Capability Building & Standardization
  • Develop reconciliation guidelines, procedures, and training material.

 Proven experience working across geology, mining, and processing functions.
 Experience reviewing or supporting consultant-led reconciliation studies is desirable.
Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Deep understanding of dilution, ore loss, stockpile behavior, and recovery drivers.
