Principal Piping Designer - (3D CAD Coordinator) - E3D/S3D

Job Overview:

The Principal Piping Designer (3D CAD Coordinator) E3D/S3D directly impacts the effectiveness of their team and related team. They exchange ideas and information relating to Piping Design effectively. The Principal Piping Designer may work autonomously within established Piping Design procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal Piping Designer proposes improvements to processes and methods within the Piping Design discipline.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Develop 3D Models and ensure clash free model in coordination with all other disciplines requirements.

• Is fully familiar with the Project Scope of work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements.
  

• Attend project Kickoff, Review meetings, Vendor meetings, model reviews.
  

• Preparation of NavisWork Review Session.
• Setting of the colors for proper identifications.
• Coordinating with PEM and Lead Piping Engineers/Discipline Engineer for setting up the system for the review.
• Clash report generator and closure.
• Interdisciplinary coordination between all disciplines to meet the schedule with the requisite quality.
• Keeping the records of3D model review comments and provide model review files and reports.
• Re-Assigning the tags to other disciplines for incorporating the review comments and ensures close out of tagged items prior to the next model review session.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• 15 years with major contractor or consultant of which 5+ years of experience in similar role (3D CAD Coordinator - E3D/S3D) in oil and gas industry.
• High School graduate with a diploma in Mechanical Design or Drafting in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Detailed knowledge of 3D CAD system including E3D and/or S3D.
• Minimum 1 or 2 projects working experience in E3D and/or S3D.
• Detailed knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Auto lisp.

• Familiar with the associated local regulatory environment and international and national industry standards and specifications.
  

• Programming, 3D Modeling, Menu, and/or Macro compilation skills would be an advantage.
Flexible for business traveling/assignments.
