Job Summary:
Lead long-term planning, pricing analysis, and sector studies by providing strategic direction and oversight of gas supply and demand planning, infrastructure development, and resource allocation. Ensure effective risk management, stakeholder alignment, and compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices to support national objectives.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
General

Lead long-term gas supply and demand planning, pricing analysis, and strategic gas sector studies.

Drive strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.

Prepare and consolidate business plans, performance reports, and management dashboards.

Monitor market trends, competition, and organisational performance to identify opportunities and risks.

Align resources and departmental plans with corporate strategy.
-
Evaluate new business opportunities through technical and commercial assessments.

Conduct benchmark and strategic analyses to support continuous improvement.
LT Supply/Demand Planning
-
Lead long-term gas supply and demand forecasting and planning.
-
Assess supply availability, demand requirements, and S/D balance scenarios.

Recommend strategic actions to optimise gas allocation and planning outcomes.

Coordinate alignment, stakeholder engagement, and approval of the LT S/D Plan.
Pricing Analysis

Lead gas pricing analysis, including pricing formulas, market forecasts, and scenario development.

Evaluate supply costs, WACOG, sales prices, and margin performance.

Provide pricing insights and recommendations to Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams.

Support supply-demand planning, portfolio optimisation, and contract negotiations.
Gas Sector Strategic Studies

Lead gas sector studies, infrastructure expansion planning, and maintenance program reviews.

Oversee integrated gas sector planning, ensuring alignment with government strategies and stakeholder requirements.

Identify, evaluate, and coordinate strategic value-creation initiatives across the gas sector.

Assess energy transition impacts on gas supply and demand and support long-term sector planning.

Develop and maintain gas allocation strategies and implementation plans.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)

Master's degree in Engineering, Economics / Business
-
Project Management certificate (preferred).

10+ years of relevant experience within the energy sector.
-
Understanding of Oman's Gas Network system.
-
Relevant experience in gas planning and dispatch.
-
Understanding of the Gas regulatory framework and sector including gas compositions from various fields.

Working progressive experience in relevant positions supporting or leading Investment Management or Strategy roles.

Experienced in resource control, stakeholder management, and working with management consultants.
-
Working experience in pricing analysis, Gas infrastructure Projects and Business planning.
