The Opportunity:

The Principal, Product Innovation leads the exploration of innovation opportunities and development of high-impact and differentiating product capabilities for Ensemble Health Partner. The selected candidate works closely with operational leaders to identify and evaluate innovation opportunities through wide variety of projects. They will be responsible for establishing processes to capture, evaluate, and groom new ideas into specific and measurable innovation opportunities and lead the team in driving innovation projects from inception to completion in a structured stage-gate innovation process. The Principal, Product Innovation develops business cases and closely works with executive leadership to prioritize and make critical decisions at various stages using Waterfall methodologies with awareness of multiple areas for fall out. A professional background in Healthcare Revenue Cycle is required as you will build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and ownership in the entire organization, drives awareness of innovation opportunities, and encourages others to generate innovation ideas.

Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with operations and business leaders to solve complex problems, turn major pain points into high impact innovation opportunities, validate findings and conduct experiments.
  • Develop and manage process to capture, evaluate and groom ideas received from stakeholders of all levels through formal submissions, discussions, and brainstorming sessions and build innovation pipeline.
  • Conduct secondary research to stay up to date with emerging trends, latest technologies, and innovations in healthcare revenue cycle and generate new ideas and insights.
  • Lead cross functional teams to drive innovation projects from conception through development of prototypes and experiments to evaluate feasibility and impact. Set foundation for full scale development of successful project and collaborate with technology leaders for handover.
  • Develop and present business case and findings to innovation council of executive leaders to get approval for go/no-go decisions through various stages of an innovation project lifecycle.
  • Recruit, build and manage an extended innovation team (including data engineers and data scientists).
  • Cultivate an environment of innovation, collaboration, and ownership within team where everyone is encouraged to experiment and make advancements in promising innovations.

Employment Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 Years of related experience
  • Expert level in MS SQL
  • Experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle
  • Long term project mindset- using Waterfall Methodology
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Comp Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Healthcare Management or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5 years+) as a Business Analyst or similar role in the healthcare revenue cycle management domain.
  • Subject matter expert with SQL and various data flows.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, claims processing, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Excel or statistical software.
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, such as EHRs, practice management systems, and billing software.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex information to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry trends, such as HIPAA and value-based reimbursement models.
