Principal QC Virology Scientist

We are currently looking to fill a Principal QC Virology Scientist position . This laboratory-based position is part of the Quality Control (QC) Virology Development team and will drive experimental strategy and execution for the wet-lab portion of the team while collaborating heavily with the bioinformatic portion of the team, ensuring that goals are met and assays are ready for validation.
As a QC Virology Scientist , a typical day might include the following:
Design and develop Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) assays targeting adventitious agents, as a more rapid and sensitive testing strategy to replace current in-process and cell bank testing.
Facilitate teamwork, planning, troubleshooting, and decision-making between wet-lab and bioinformatic portions of the team to advance developmental activities to completion.
Initiate effective, accurate, and timely project-related scientific and technical analyses, discussions, summary reports, and communications as part of the assay development process.
Accurately scope projects and associated timelines while identifying and communicating risk regarding potential obstacles and escalating as necessary.
Use the available scientific literature to develop scientific arguments regarding strategy for assay development.
Attending meetings to keep informed of priorities and business-related activities.
Ensuring compliance in the laboratory with applicable cGMP regulations and SOPs.

To be considered for this position you must have a PhD in Virology, Cell or Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related Science, with 2+ years working in cGMP virology lab or related experience. Experience with NGS-based assays is preferred, and a demonstrated skill set in technical writing and communication skills is required.

Salary Range (annually) $90,800.00 - $148,400.00
