About the role:
We are seeking candidates who have a current and informed understanding of the transport planning, traffic modelling, and traffic engineering industry and can demonstrate:
- Recognition as a local authority in the traffic and transport planning sector. Be well-known and regarded across the local transport consulting industry
- Strong communication and a proven track record of ‘opening doors’ and building trusting and productive client relationships
- High level of commercial acumen. Producing tender proposals of an excellent standard and promptly
- Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and a passionate interest in developing innovative solutions to improve the way people and goods move around urban cities
- Successful delivery of major transport-related projects to budget, client specifications, and timely delivery
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of a wide range of quality services to the public and private sectors in the planning, design, and management of the transport network and infrastructure across all modes of transport
- Collaboration with other local managers to ensure a well-functioning and profitable business that supports Surbana Jurong’s vision and values
- Provide leadership within the UAE Roads and Highways team by connecting with the other global TPA teams
- Undertake client relationship management and business development activities in line with the Market Sector plans
- Win and deliver a range of important infrastructure projects, and foster region-wide collaboration to support successful outcomes.
- Provide project governance and project management to achieve project performance targets in terms of contribution, timeliness, and quality
- Driving and developing our existing business throughout the Middle East region and growing the team.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or related discipline
- Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Transport Planning, or similar is preferred
- Professional registration or chartership preferred, such as:
- Chartered Engineer
- Professional Engineer
- Equivalent recognized accreditation
- Demonstrated eligibility for nomination with UAE authorities is highly desirable
Experience & Technical Requirements:
- Minimum 15 to 20+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning
- Proven UAE experience delivering Traffic Impact Studies and securing authority approvals
- Strong working knowledge of RTA Dubai and ITC Abu Dhabi standards
- Experience across concept to detailed stages, including operational planning and mitigation design
- Advanced capability in transport modelling tools such as:
- PTV VISUM
- VISSIM
- Synchro
- SIDRA
- CUBE
- HCS
- Other relevant modelling platforms
- Demonstrated experience in client engagement and authority facing discussions
- Strong commercial awareness and proposal experience
