Principle Software Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer who can operate at both architectural and hands-on engineering levels and this while providing technical leadership across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building and supporting web and mobile applications within the logistics and supply chain domain he should have exceptional proficiency in .NET/C#, Angular, Devops, Microservices, MongoDB, SQL, and React Native.

This role requires a visionary technical leader who is still deeply involved in coding, architecture designing and rolling out of new applications. Should be familiar with different models and capable of resolving complex technical issues and driving the technical direction of the development-oriented cross functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

• Design and evolve the architecture for scalable, secure, and high-performance web and mobile applications in logistics and supply chain environments.
• Define architectural standards, best practices, integration patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead solution design sessions, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementations.
• Drive adoption of modern architectural patterns like microservices, event-driven architecture, DDD, and cloud-native design.

Hands-On Engineering

• Actively contribute to software development using .NET/C#, Angular, React Native, Mongo DB and related technologies.
• Develop and optimize Microservices and backend services, ensuring high availability and interoperability.
• Write performant SQL queries, optimize data-access layers, and lead database design decisions.
• Oversee API design, system integration, and complex debugging across distributed systems.
• Build responsive, maintainable UI components and frontend architectures using Angular.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Mentor and guide engineers, ensuring high technical standards and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Lead cross-functional teams involving developers, handling devops, product owners and UI/UX designers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across logistics, operations, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Manage technical delivery, provide accurate estimations, and remove blockers during development cycles.

System Support & Issue Resolution

• Provide high-level troubleshooting expertise for both web-based and mobile applications.
• Resolve production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and architecture-level issues.
• Ensure uptime, reliability, and smooth operation of complex logistics application ecosystems.
• Handling Devops to improve observability, monitoring, and automation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3–5 years in an architect or principal engineer role.
• Proven background in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain systems (must-have).
• Expert-level proficiency in:
• C#/.NET (Core/6/7)
• Angular
• React Native
• DevOps
• Microservices architecture
• MongoDB
• SQL Server and performance tuning
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience building high-transaction, real-time systems used in logistics operations (tracking, routing, scheduling, integrations).
• Deep understanding of API design (REST, GraphQL), event-driven systems, messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Service Bus).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPS tracking systems, routing engines, geospatial data, or logistics dispatch workflows.
• Exposure to enterprise integration patterns and B2B integrations (EDI, external APIs, warehouse systems).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Octopus).
• Understanding of compliance, data security standards, and regulatory requirements in logistics tech.

Job Type: Full-Time / On-Site

Location: 2nd Floor, OneExpress Plaza (above McDonald's and Imtiaz Mart) Islamabad Expressway Gulberg Greens Interchange, Islamabad.

Job Timing: 1:30 PM-10:30 PM PST in Winters and One Hour Earlier in Summers (According to UK Timings)

Salary: Depends on the Experience and Proven Demonstrated Skills
