Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Print Production Specialist to join Yotta Sky Group, a full-service graphic design, digital printing, and signage company. This role is focused on preparing, producing, and finishing high-quality printed materials using a wide range of production equipment. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of print workflows, equipment operation, and finishing processes, with a commitment to precision, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Preparation
- Prepare and process customer-supplied files for print, ensuring proper sizing, resolution, bleed, margins, and color profiles.
- Perform pre-flight checks to confirm all files meet production and equipment specifications.
- Troubleshoot and adjust files using production software to ensure optimal output quality.
Printing and Equipment Operation
- Operate a range of digital printing and production equipment, including:
- Large-format roll printers (including 10ft roll printer and Colorado printer)
- Flatbed printers (including Texas flatbed)
- Ricoh digital presses
- Manage print queues and prioritize jobs to meet production deadlines.
- Monitor machine performance, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate servicing when needed.
Cutting, Routing, and Finishing
- Operate finishing and fabrication equipment, including:
- Zünd digital cutting system
- Laser cutters
- Vinyl cutters and plotters
- Guillotine and precision cutters
- Perform finishing tasks such as laminating, mounting, trimming, routing, and assembly.
- Ensure all finished products meet specifications and quality standards.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect printed materials for color accuracy, alignment, and overall quality.
- Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimize waste and downtime.
Inventory and Workflow Management
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels for substrates, ink, and production supplies.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production environment.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure job accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Communicate any file or production issues that may impact timelines or output quality.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in print production is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in a print production, signage, or digital printing environment preferred.
Skills and Tools:
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for file review and minor edits.
- Experience with RIP software and digital print workflows.
- Hands-on experience operating large-format printers (including Colorado), flatbeds, digital presses, and cutting systems.
- Strong understanding of print file setup, color management, substrates, and finishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in signage, large-format printing, and custom fabrication.
- Familiarity with variable data printing and specialty materials.
