Print Retail Specialist

Join our dynamic team as a Print Retail Specialist at The UPS Store! In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face guiding customers through their printing, shipping, and retail needs.

The Print Specialist operates the Center’s print center for both graphic design and production. He or she will work with customers to create, schedule, and produce their print products.

The ideal candidate has one to two years of experience in a similar role or a two-year degree in graphic design or a related field, experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, knowledge of printing concepts, and production experience with digital printing and bindery equipment.

The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
  • Assist customers with printing projects, including product demos and technical support
  • Ask open ended questions to build relationships and understand customers copy print needs
  • Use order intake tools to capture project information and offer an appropriate total print solution
  • Assist customers with tasks in the self-service area utilizing the copy machines and PC rentals
  • Completes tasks independently in a quick turn environment
  • Understands color management and applies file adjustments
  • Follows and understands quality guidelines
  • Interprets a variety of instructions provided in written or verbal form
  • Brainstorms and mocks up design ideas
  • Presents concepts or ideas to clients
  • Meets with clients and adjusts designs to fit their needs or taste
  • Reads and understands all job requirements before beginning desktop process
  • Effectively manages production schedule and production materials
  • Operates and maintains print and finishing equipment
  • Maintains strong attention to detail when proofing all materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ask qualifying questions during consultation to generate potential leads
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions involving printing services, shipping, and retail products
  • Manage stock levels by merchandising displays, stocking shelves, and organizing inventory efficiently
  • Upsell additional products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and store revenue
  • Handle cash transactions with proper cash handling procedures and maintain accurate cash register records
  • Maintain a clean, organized store environment that promotes safety and ease of shopping for all customers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • One to two years of experience or a two-year degree in graphic design or a related field
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites (2 years preferred)
  • Production scheduling experience
  • Project management skills
  • Production experience with digital printing and bindery equipment
  • Able to work and complete tasks independently in a quick turn environment
  • Knowledge and application of printing concepts
  • Good concept of color management and able to apply file adjustments
  • Able to follow and understand quality guidelines
  • Able to operate and maintain print and finishing equipment
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Supervising experience or ability to oversee daily store operations effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate products clearly and confidently to customers
  • Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities
  • Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally
  • Strong upselling skills combined with retail sales experience to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math for inventory management
  • Customer service expertise with effective communication skills to resolve issues promptly
  • Basic math skills necessary for transactions and inventory counts
  • Previous experience in grocery stores or retail environments is advantageous but not required
  • Skills in Microsoft & Adobe products including Photoshop
  • Wide format printing
  • Able to get and secure a notary
  • Able to lift 40+ pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
