Role Summary

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Printing Operations & Sales Manager who will play a critical role in activating the entire business. This role combines human resources, technical operations management, and sales leadership in one position. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in digital printing, strong knowledge of machines, papers, substrates, finishing equipment, and a solid background in recruitment and people management. YOU WILL RUN OUR BUSINESS.

The position requires someone who can hire the right people, establish internal processes, drive sales, and ensure smooth printing operations from day one.

Key Responsibilities1. Human Resources & Recruitment (Primary – First Phase)

You will first focus on building the team and HR systems needed to activate the business.

HR Responsibilities

  • Create complete recruitment plans for each department: Sales, Prepress, Printing, Finishing, Logistics.
  • Write job descriptions, conduct interviews, shortlist candidates, and ensure proper onboarding.
  • Manage HR documentation: contracts, policies, payroll coordination, attendance, and HR files.
  • Establish company culture, code of conduct, SOPs, and employee handbook.
  • Implement performance management and 30/60/90-day reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and company standards.

Hiring Priorities

You will hire the right people in the correct sequence:

  • Sales roles (Sales Lead, Estimator/Quotation, Coordinator)
  • Operations roles (Print Operators, Prepress, Finishing)
  • Support roles (Inventory, QC, Delivery, Admin)

2. Sales & Business Development (Second Phase)

After hiring the first sales team, you will also lead and drive early sales.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Lead sales strategy, pricing, quotation process, and customer presentations.
  • Train sales staff on printing products, services, packages, and production timelines.
  • Generate new leads, build B2B accounts, and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Prepare quotations and ensure correct costing based on material, machine type, and finishing.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets and maintain strong sales pipeline reporting.
  • Create promotional packages and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

3. Printing Operations Management (Third Phase)

You will supervise daily production and ensure the business delivers high-quality printing output.

Operations Responsibilities

  • Oversee all digital printing operations: Prepress, Print Production, Finishing, Delivery.
  • Plan workflow, job scheduling, resource allocation, and machine load.
  • Ensure all printing jobs meet quality, color accuracy, and finishing standards.
  • Manage printing machines (Ricoh, Xerox, Konica Minolta, HP Indigo, Roland, Mimaki, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, machine errors, color mismatches, or paper jams.
  • Maintain inventory of papers, substrates, inks, and consumables.
  • Implement SOPs for production, safety, maintenance, and QC.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure timely delivery of all client jobs.

Required Skills & ExperienceHR / People Management

  • Minimum 5 years HR experience (recruitment, onboarding, HR administration).
  • Ability to hire technical talents: print operators, finishing technicians, prepress.
  • Strong understanding of people systems, policies, labour law, and performance management.

Digital Printing Expertise

  • Mandatory experience in a digital printing company (minimum 5–7 years).
  • Strong technical knowledge of digital printers, materials, color calibration & finishing.
  • Experience with job workflow from quotation → prepress → printing → finishing → delivery.

Sales & Client Handling

  • Proven sales experience within printing, signage, packaging, or related industries.
  • Strong negotiation, pricing, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to convert leads to sales and build long-term relationships.

Other Skills

  • Excellent communication & leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and multitasking capability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple departments at once.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, Print workflow software, CRM tools).

Key Deliverables (First 90 Days)Day 1–30

  • Set up HR systems, policies, hiring plan.
  • Hire 2–3 key positions (Sales Lead + Print Operator + Estimator).
  • Establish basic SOPs for recruitment, onboarding, and production.

Day 31–60

  • Activate sales team and generate pipeline.
  • Begin production of sample jobs and first client orders.
  • Complete hiring of production team.

Day 61–90

  • Stabilize printing operations with full team.
  • Ensure sales targets and production KPIs are met.
  • Implement full workflow system and QC standards.

  • Job accuracy & reduction of reprints.
