Printing Press Operator Apprentice

Vintage 99 Label Mfg., Inc. is currently seeking the ideal candidate to fill an apprentice position for operating a printing press to produce high quality wine labels. SUMMARY

Sets up and operates Finishing Press for digital print on rolls of various printing materials in accordance with the organizations policies & procedures by performing the following duties;

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

With the assistance of the Production Supervisor :

• Setup/Makeready die cut, ink/varnishes, foil, emboss, for an ABG Digicon press
• Ensure print meets all aspects of label specifications including text, colors, registration, foil, emboss and varnish
• Meet deadlines according to production schedule while maintaining efficiency and minimal waste
• Ensure the utmost quality is met; adheres to company quality control policies and procedures

Record job run data into computer system

Routine press cleaning and maintenance

Maintain a clean, safe work environment; follow all safety rules.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to accurately see color, color test required.

Ability to stand for the majority of the work shift and lift 50 - 75 pounds

Basic computer skills

Self-starter with strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks.

Strong proofreading skills.

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment assisting others throughout the organization as needed.

Must have the ability to interact and get along with all levels of employees.

Must be detailed oriented.

Must be able work overtime as needed, including weekends, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.

Possess a strong work ethic

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Handle other projects or assignments as required; Assist throughout the organization as needed.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Label printing industry experience and experience with foil stamping, embossing, or flexo/offset printing helpful, but not required as an apprentice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
