As a Private Banking MSL Team - Business Effectiveness Coordinator, you will actively lead and support various projects while collaborating closely with Private Bankers to deliver exceptional service to High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients within our Marketable Secured Lending space. You will serve as a key liaison among clients, Bankers, Wealth Advisors, and internal Operations teams to ensure that all Securities Based Product requests are processed accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities include verifying the credit application is correct, preparing the file for document preparation/closing, and tracking loan documentation, maintaining and organizing client files, and managing the full lifecycle of account openings and closures. Additionally, you will assist clients with research inquiries and document collection, oversee complex money movements such as advances, payments, ACH transactions, loan draws, and wires, and conduct thorough billing reviews for accuracy. You will also contribute to reporting processes and proactively address and resolve any exceptions to ensure seamless operations.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Client Service: Providing high-touch and top-tier client service related to MSLs for Private Banking clients and advisors by working with a sense of urgency and accuracy to finalize loan documentation and booking. You will be asked to assist clients with research inquiries and document collection, providing timely and thorough support.

  • Risk reviews: Proactively respond to any inquiries, and stay up-to-date on the latest tools and information that can help reduce our operational risk and provide top-tier client service. Relationship building – Listen, ask questions, and truly understand the business. Deepen your relationship with business partners by using your knowledge of their team when working with partners. Use your professional network to escalate any challenges to the executive level in a constructive and effective way.

  • Governance support: Contribute to governance oversight providing requested documentation and/or answer questions as posed.

  • Comprehensive Analysis: Work closely with our Private Bankers and Wealth Advisors to ensure a timely and accurate experience for our Clients throughout the entire process. You will provide comprehensive project management and support, actively contributing to the planning, execution, and successful completion of key initiatives.

  • High-Quality Decision-Making: Responsible for ensuring all file documentation is complete, accurate, verified and meets set deadlines. You will oversee the end-to-end process of account openings and closures, ensuring accuracy and a positive client experience.

  • Effective Risk Assessment: Ensure processes align with the bank’s guidelines, risk appetite, policies, and consumer laws and regulation requirements while providing sound judgment. You will analyze and review billing statements for accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.

  • Strong Written Communication: Craft detailed communication that clearly present rationale, assessment, and evaluation results. You will prepare and review loan files for document preparation, meticulously tracking executed documents to ensure timely and accurate booking.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with all key stakeholders: Securities Based Lending Team, Private Bankers, Wealth Advisors, Underwriters, Closers, Post Closers, Group Portfolio Managers, and Senior Management to ensure seamless loan/line processing and deliver exceptional sales support and service to High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients.

  • Market Awareness & Compliance: Stay updated on market conditions, industry regulations, and consumer lending laws to maintain compliance and adapt to evolving enhancements. You will maintain and organize client folders, guaranteeing proper storage and adherence to compliance standards.

  • Community Involvement: Complete at least five community outreach volunteer hours annually, contributing to the bank’s commitment to community development.

Who You Are

  • You demonstrate experience in in Securities Back Lending or Private Banking or Wealth. It’s an asset if you have least 5 years of experience in on wealth-high net worth lending with a strong grasp of risk assessment for high-net-worth clients.

  • You have a degree/diploma in finance, or a related field.

  • You give meaning to data.. You have strong problem-solving skills, can identify and quantify problems, and provide effective resolutions. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way. You can analyze credit reports, assets, and liabilities with expertise in loan opening, processing, and pre-closing tasks.

  • You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision-making

  • You are a strong communicator. You excel at verbal and written communication, clearly presenting information to stakeholders, including assisting with procedural/job aid updates, and presentation materials for training. This includes supporting department special projects and/or testing initiatives.

  • You can demonstrate experience in industry tools and systems like Supernova, FastNet,, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) products, and FIS/IBS.

  • You have regulatory Knowledge. You have a strong understanding of federal and state lending regulations, ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
