Ekoniak Tutoring & Coaching provides a combination of executive function coaching and subject tutoring for all elementary, middle, and high school subjects. We also provide tutoring for standardized testing (ACT, SAT, AP) as well as high-school and college-applications. We believe that holistic education must include mastery of both executive functioning skills and individual subject matter.

At Ekoniak Tutoring & Coaching, our goal is to provide high-quality, personalized tutoring for our clients. In-person tutoring provides the best learning experience for our clients. We provide in-person tutoring services to students in the Menlo Park, Atherton, and Palo Alto areas.

Position Summary

As a private tutor at Ekoniak Tutoring & Coaching, you will:

- Provide 1-on-1 in-person tutoring services to elementary, middle, and high school students. Tutoring sessions often occur at the student's house or at local libraries

- Prepare learning materials and lesson plans for tutoring sessions, and provide weekly progress reports to your student's parents

- Commute to client’s houses or nearby libraries (in the Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, and/or Redwood City areas)

- Manage relationships with parents and display a strong level of accountability, reliability, and professionalism

- This is a part-time role, ideal for current students, teachers, or retired educators. Most of our tutors work 8-12 hours / week, with the opportunity to take on up to 20 hours / week

We look for tutors who put their students first to provide them with an optimal learning experience. Our tutors should easily relate to students, have the ability to adapt their teaching to their student's preferences, and be prepared to create additional learning materials. Once joining Ekoniak Tutoring & Coaching, all of our tutors are trained on how to teach the executive functioning skills that we believe are essential for children's educational development.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree (all subjects accepted)

- 2+ years of experience in a tutoring or mentorship role

- Access to a car

- Applicant must consistently display the following qualities: Creativity, strong verbal and written communication, professionalism, reliability, patience

Our tutors must be available for in-person tutoring in the Menlo Park, Atherton, Palo Alto, and Redwood City neighborhoods. In addition to in-person tutoring, our tutors provide regular documentation with parents in the form of weekly 'progress reports' to keep parents informed about the process.
