Procedure Writer

Job Summary:

At Centrus, this role is where technical precision meets creative problem-solving. As an Instructional Technologist/Procedure Writer, you’ll transform complex operational knowledge into engaging training experiences and clear, reliable procedures that keep teams informed, safe, and performing at their best. You’ll play a key role in shaping how knowledge is shared across the organization—helping employees not just learn, but truly understand and apply what matters most.


What You Will Do:

You’ll design and deliver performance-based training programs that support technical, safety, and general employee development using proven adult learning principles and interactive techniques. Partnering closely with subject matter experts, you’ll build training materials that are practical, effective, and tailored to diverse learning styles. At the same time, you’ll develop, revise, and maintain administrative and technical procedures—ensuring they are accurate, compliant with NRC standards, and easy to follow in real-world operations. You’ll support records and commitment management activities, conduct updates and change evaluations for procedures and training materials, and provide procedure review support to field teams—helping ensure consistency, quality, and adherence across the organization.


We’d love to hear from People With:

  • Associate degree in engineering, physical sciences, education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years demonstrated competency in technical or instructional analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation or 2+ years competency in procedure development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, etc) or equivalent
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.

A Successful Candidate Brings:

  • 3+ years demonstrated competency in technical and/or instructional documentation and design
  • Technical training experience in an NRC/DOE regulated industry
  • Procedure writing experience in an NRC/DOE regulated industry
  • An active “Q” clearance.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
