Process Engineer (Steel Melt Shop)

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Min 5 years in steel manufacturing, preferably in Electric Arc Furnace/ Ladle Furnace operations.
• Knowledge of steelmaking processes (Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Furnace, Continuous Casting Machine).
• Gulf work experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office; SAP preferred.
• Support the efficient and safe operation of Melt Shop (EAF/LF) by monitoring processes, analysing performance data, and recommending improvements to achieve production, quality, and cost objectives.
• Provide technical support to production crews and ensure compliance with operating procedures.
• Process Monitoring & Improvement
• Monitor EAF/LF processes for compliance with SOPs.
• Analyse process data and identify performance gaps.
• Recommend adjustments to improve yield, reduce consumption, and optimize productivity.
• Support cost reduction initiatives.
• Production Support
• Assist shift leaders in troubleshooting process deviations.
• Ensure coordination with casting and rolling units
• Support Section Head in implementing best practices.
• Achievement of process improvements, cost optimization, and productivity enhancement.
• Reduced production downtime and improved plant OEE.
• Accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reports.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare daily and weekly technical reports on process parameters and variances.
• Consistency of product quality and reduction of rework/rejections
• Training & Development
• Support training of production operators on process improvements.
• Stay updated on new technologies in steelmaking.
• Improved operator skills and knowledge transfer.
