Purpose of Work:

To support the Refinery OT assets and Plant Automation Network administration and Cyber Security controls Implementation. The Refinery automation system includes DCS, PLCs, and various higher level Control, supervisory and monitoring OT assets. This position will also support Maintenance of control systems and investigate, troubleshoot, correct and mitigate related problems. Process Systems Engineer - PDE (SMP) will propose, recommend and implement enhancement and systems reliability improvement.

Regular Assigned Duties:

• To monitor and maintain refinery process automation network and information systems for continuous Refinery operations. This includes:

1. Troubleshooting and analysis of Network, workstation and/or control system or PLCs issues.
2. Replacement of system hardware for maintenance.
3. Taking and maintaining of software, system configuration backups.
4. Adherence to Cyber security related actions like installation and updating of antivirus updates and Microsoft security patches.
5. Support operations during unit startup and trips and/or emergencies.
6. To participate in Incident investigation and provide information related to control systems..
7. To develop procedures and work instructions for control system maintenance.
8. Maintain ongoing communication with control system vendors for system related problems and for technical advisories.
9. Support Samref automation network systems with its peripherals and application systems.
10. Support Samref MIS systems such as PI & LIMS.

• Provide technical Support to SAMREF major and in-site projects (i.e. TSRs, MOCs) during initial design, review of critical documents, testing, commissioning and startup of control system.
• Plan, oversight and implement automation systems projects and changes (e.g. TSRs, MOCs, etc.)
• Develop and update automation system & application procedures and work instructions (e.g. security, backup, software changes,.., etc), systems cyber security updates and ensure compliance with them by all parties.
• Enhance and maintain the integrity and robustness of automation, information and application systems software & hardware.
• Develop and/or provide documentation and training for special or complex automation systems software and/or control applications to refinery operators and/or systems engineers.
• Act on a support role for DCS technicians in troubleshooting and resolving systems hardware issues.
• Keep up to date on the latest technologies and best practices in automation systems and cybersecurity including notices and alerts to enhance SAMREF position in taking advantage of enhanced security and adoption of best practices.

Education:

Bachelor degree of Engineering in Computer, Systems or Electronics.

Experience:

Fresh graduate or with less than 2 years of related experience. (Preferred as IT or OT administrator in oil & gas industries).
